My father, Howard Lloyd Kelly, died this past Saturday. He was at home as was his wish surrounded by his family. He knew that his time was short and he accepted that fact with grace which helped lend strength to those around him. He was like a fine watch, purposeful and dependable. There was no show of ostentation but no doubt that he was beautifully crafted from the best of materials. In the end he simply, slowly, inexorably wound down until he just stopped. It was peaceful. It was final. It made sense - As hard as that is to accept. I will carry him with me always. There are still may things I have yet to learn from his example.
